History of the Trampoline

In 1945, which gymnastics device did inventor George Nissen receive a patent for, getting its name from the Spanish word for "diving board?"

Considered a legend, Nissen helped create the gymnastic sport of trampolining, which combines acrobatics with bouncing. During World War II, the trampoline was used to train pilots, and later used to help condition astronauts for space travel.
